We are also celebrating the end of summer. On top of the current exhibitions and collection presentations, the museum garden will be transformed into a large family party full of creative fun. This is also the last chance to see the exhibitions 'Wael Shawky: Dry Culture Wet Culture' and 'Open M - Time and Again'.

During the entire weekend

11:00 – 18:00

Finissage ‘Open M – Time and Again’

Every two years M gives artists with a Flemish Brabant connection the opportunity to show their work in our museum via Open M. Thirteen out of no less than 370 entries made it to the selection. With this edition, we sound off on the resilience of the arts and on the creativity of artists, which is unstoppable even in difficult times.

Museumspelstraat

From the barefoot path to the climbing wall to life-size toys - on most weekends in the summer, you can play freely in the garden of M. There is also a play corner for the little ones. There is a creative activity organised (almost) every Saturday afternoon. Participation is free of charge, come along when you want.

Summer bar

All good songs have an end. This is your last chance to enjoy a (refreshing) drink on the public terrace - and by extension the museum garden - of M. But no worries: Barbóék in M is here to stay. Here, you are always welcome for a cup of coffee, a piece of cake and art books, all year round.

ONLY ON SATURDAY

11:00 – 17:00

Photobooth in the context of ‘Wael Shawky: Dry Culture Wet Culture’

When you have visited 'Wael Shawky: Dry Culture Wet Culture' there is the opportunity to take a photo in the photobooth inspired by the artist's work. Surrounded by all kinds of illustrations and objects, you create a memento of your visit to the exhibition and the Summer of M. You’ll have to frame it yourself.

Museumspelstraat (activity): experimenting with plaster and clay

When creating a work of art, Wael Shawky always starts with a story. The story is then shaped using various materials. We will do that too during this activity: you will get to work with plaster, clay and your own story. Expect a lot of new impressions and experimentation. You can of course also take your own designed story home with you.
