Rent a museum! Ms B2B formulas

KU Leuven likes to call on M when they have something to celebrate. This is what Hanne Van den Keybus, conference organiser at the University's Congress and Events Department, tells us.

"For the conferences themselves we have our own infrastructure, but M is ideal for social events on the fringes of conferences: receptions and so on. It is centrally located, and it is a beautiful place. We especially like to use the roof terrace and the partially covered courtyard garden. M really is one of the nicest locations in town."

"Sometimes an event like this is meant for a few dozen people, but we have also had up to many hundreds of guests. At the university it is difficult to find a suitable hall for so many people."

"At M, they are very professional, you can tell that they have experience organizing events. We once had a reception where we could choose a week in advance whether we wanted to do it indoors or outdoors, depending on the weather. Certainly not a given, because we were expecting 400 people. In the end, we ended up outdoors. We left the umbrellas that we had arranged for rainy weather there just for fun (laughs)."

"The receptions are also extraordinarily well catered for, with elaborate appetizers - it is really not just a toast with chicken curry. M works with several regular caterers that you can choose from."

"M also offers guided tours of the museum - also for evening events after closing-time. Then you have the museum rooms all to yourself for your visitors. Very nice."

"In normal circumstances, we organize two or three events a year at M, but because of Covid, it has been quiet for quite a while. Our last event was at the end of 2019: a reception for an American professor visiting our country. There were Belgian beers, a food stand with Belgian snacks, a music band that walked among the guests ... Just a really nice evening - enough to make you long for it(laughs). Hopefully we can soon do that again."

Besides being a museum, M is also an original event location. IKEA knows that too: sometimes they organize a team away-day at the museum.

Caroline Van Rhee, Business Area Manager at IKEA: "We could of course have meetings at IKEA itself, but once or twice a year we look for an external location for a team away-day. M is perfect for that. Leuven is centrally located - the participants came from all corners of Flanders - and easily accessible by train. M itself is certainly a beautiful and original place."
