Orlando, ma biographie politique
Not only art sometimes blurs the line between fact and fiction. A documentary can do that too. But the documentary 'Orlando, ma biographie politique' can definitely be considered as a work of art, because director Paul B. Preciado does not pigeonhole. As in the exhibition 'Alias', a fictional character comes to life in his film. Orlando, from Virginia Woolf's novel of the same name (1928), became known as the first fictional character in a novel to change gender. Orlando comes to life through dialogue with 26 non-binary and trans people between the ages of 8 and 70. Gradually, a portrait of a contemporary, collective 'Orlando' emerges, made up of countless faces, voices and bodies.
