Due to works taking place in the museum galleries, the Mee-maak-kamer and the presentation of M-resident Elise El Yousfi will be inaccessible to wheelchair users from 26 October to 19 November. They will be accessible to everyone again from 20 November.
Margot Weemaes (1909–1993) is not well known, which is surprising. M is going to change that. From the ‘30s to the ‘70s, this artist designed stained glass windows that brought colour and light to biblical tableaux. Over the years, her slender, tranquil figures became increasingly abstract.
This new presentation offers insight into the various stages of her design process, from sketch to final design. Weemaes’ stained glass windows, which can be seen in many churches, are displayed digitally at M.
