Opening 'Alias', Sarah Smolders & presentation of M-resident Lola Daels

On the evening of Thursday 14 March, we will open two new exhibitions at M: 'Alias' and 'A Space Begins, With Speaking' by Sarah Smolders. And M-resident Lola Daels' presentation will also be officially kicked off then. Be among the first to discover the exhibition and show moment, get a word from the curator and/or artist and enjoy a drink. Entrance to M is free for the occasion, no registration required.

About 'Alias'

M presents ‘Alias’, a group exhibition on a growing phenomenon in recent art history: fictional artists. The exhibition brings together some 80 artworks from national and international public and private collections in an unprecedented display. It will span five galleries. Piece by piece, the works illustrate the strategies contemporary artists use to conflate fiction and reality, and how they confound our perception of the truth.

About M-resident Lola Daels

Lola Daels participated in our five-month M-residency at Cas-co last year, where she was given the space to delve into her artistic research. Daels creates sculptures and installations in which she questions the notion of authenticity in the current ecological and socio-political context. She immersed herself in two obsolete Italian techniques during her M-residency: scagliola (faux marble) and pietra dura (stone inlay).
