About Richard Long

By now we can call Richard Long a veteran in the art world. Since the late 1960s, he has been pushing the boundaries of contemporary art by giving nature and the environment a fundamental role in his practice. On long walks through desolate landscapes, he creates sculptures along the way, as traces of passage and transformation. In the exhibition, he presents these traces with documentary or photographic material and textual works. But he also performs interventions in the museum rooms themselves: large sculptures of natural stone or driftwood, and mud paintings on the walls. Everything reminds us of a common, human origin and a connection with nature.

About Alexis Gautier

Alexis Gautier career is only starting. His art production is based on a thorough dialogue and co-authorship. ‘L'Heure de la Soupe' is therefore the result of a collaboration between several protagonists: Gautier himself, but also other artists, craftspeople from around the world, museum staff and even local residents. The exhibition thus forms an eclectic backdrop of human interactions, offering infinite possibilities for interpretation and reinterpretation.
