About M-resident Anna Van der Ploeg
Anna van der Ploeg, M-resident in Cas-co from March till August 2023, presents her latest research and work in a small-scale presentation in the museum. Van der Ploeg combines elements of sculpture with painting and printmaking to create her own method of carving, painting and bending plywood. Her work is driven by the observation of moments of inter-relation and the role language plays in these exchanges. Van der Ploeg collects DIY posters as a materialization of a desire to be heard, to send a thought or message into the world, the public conceiving of and talking amongst itself.
Inspired by a particular found poster that touched the artist deeply, and a banderole from the collection of M, Van der Ploeg created new sculptures during her stay in the M-residency. The presentation in M unlocks Van der Ploeg's new experiments with wood, marmoleum and linen. It will be on view till March 3, 2024.
